The visit provided an opportunity to discuss the impact of Government investment in housing infrastructure and to see first-hand how the Housing Infrastructure Activation Fund (LIHAF) helped unlock the lands for development, paving the way for the delivery of much-needed homes in the area.
The infrastructure investment has been instrumental in facilitating the growth of Summerfields and supporting the delivery of new homes for local families. Through strong collaboration between Government, local authorities and the private sector, the development continues to make a significant contribution to housing supply in the region.
To date, Whitebox has delivered 193 affordable homes across the development UNDER The Local Authority Affordable Purchase Scheme . In addition, 198 private homes are currently under construction, while an additional 62 affordable homes are planned for delivery in the next phase.
During the visit, the Tánaiste toured the development and met with homeowners, hearing first-hand about their experiences of purchasing and living in Summerfields. The visit highlighted the positive impact that strategic infrastructure investment can have in accelerating housing delivery, creating sustainable communities and providing opportunities for families to own their own home.
Whitebox remains committed to delivering high-quality homes and vibrant communities while continuing to work closely with Government and housing partners to help meet Ireland's growing housing needs.
